From our Founder

Greetings,

As Founder of the team which developed skydiVR, thank you for exploring new ways to learn canopy navigation skills.

Early in my skydiving career I was lucky to survive a dumb landing.  I learnt what it was like to have failed to land a parachute the way I had been trained and this lesson stayed with me.

Now as a skydive instructor with over 32 years of experience I have a vision of how we can improve training canopy navigation skills, the result is skydiVR. It is:

• For student skydivers and parachute pilots who want to improve their canopy navigation skills

• And to easily and quickly gain experience

• SkydiVR is a virtual reality parachute flight simulator that enables a parachute pilot, without the risk, to practice collecting relevant info during canopy flight to make wise decisions.

• Unlike the status quo where you learn by doing, our product provides the ability for instructors to remotely train students.

I am open to your feedback as we all work to our common goal of zero canopy related incidents and accidents.

Founder - Project Manager - Product Manager - Skydive Instructor. UPT Tandem/Instructor Examiner, AFF Instructor & AFF Instructor/Evaluator. 42 years in the sport.

Member of the current world record holding team for largest canopy formation.

First jump 17 Dec 1981, Taonui airfield, Palmerston North, New Zealand.
