What is the Hangar?

The Hangar is the website we have developed to complement and enhance your skydiVR experience.

In The Hangar you can:

  • View your landings statistics
  • Compare them to your friends
  • Watch a replay of your jump (fantasy drop zones only)
  • Share a replay of your jump with friends via social media
  • Compete in regular competitions (solo or as a team)
  • Other features are in the works...so stay connected to others who enjoy skydiVR by hanging out in the Hangar

How do I start using the Hangar?

To register your Hangar account, go to https://hangar.skydivr.io/register.

After that, you'll be able to log in and set your avatar, get your Usercode and/or generate your Token.

How do I use the Hangar in the app?

You authenticate yourself from the main screen in skydiVR.
Depending on whether there's a depth camera (like Kinect) present or not, there are two way to authenticate:

When depth camera is present:

  • Using your smartphone or a tablet, log in to the Hangar
  • In the menu, select Get My Usercode
  • A popup with your Usercode will appear
  • Point your Usercode towards the depth camera from approx. one arm's distance
  • You should see a greeting on the SkydiVR screen with your name and avatar within seconds
  • The process above could fail due to lighting conditions, and in such case you can try tapping the image for a zoomed and darker version of the Usercode

When no depth camera is present:

  • Using your smartphone or a tablet, log in to the Hangar
  • In the menu, select Get My Usercode
  • A popup with your Usercode will appear
  • Click the Generate New Token button under the Usercode (or simply remember your token if you already have one)
  • Remember your 4-digit token
  • Put the VR goggles on
  • On your right-hand side there will be a numpad
  • Use the numpad to input your token
  • You should see the numpad change into a Hangar panel with your name and avatar within seconds

Next steps

Once authenticated, all the jumps you do after that will be available for you to analyze inside the Hangar.

You'll also be prompted to enter active competitions, if available.

Once you land your final jump for the session, make sure you log out by either:

  • clicking the Log Out button at the Hangar panel inside the goggles, on your right-hand side
  • clicking the Log Out button at the bottom of the 2D screen
