As soon as our service agreement has been signed (you can read and sign this agreement here) and you have confirmed your PC is VR ready, our team will start creating your personalized two-dimensional drop zone based on high resolution satellite images of the area.
You will be asked to:
Provide defined coordinates (use Google Maps) of the center of the landing area. If there is more than one landing area, define the center of the dropzone
Provide a defined location (use Google Maps) of any windsocks or ground wind indicators
Map the area surrounding your drop zone (copy and paste) which shows the choice users can make of their opening point (when their canopy ride will start)
Choose your drop zone icon (this will be shown when users are looking to select the drop zone they want to jump at)
1. VR ready Personal Computer:

2. VR Headsets:
We support Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, though other VR goggles for PC should work as well, provided that you use the correct drivers.
3. How you can steer your virtual parachute
We have developed four options:
3.1 Hand controllers from the headset manufacturer (Oculus Touch Controllers or HTC Vive Wand Controllers).
These hand controllers should be included in the package you buy when buy your goggles. They provide what we consider to provide you as a user the most realistic experience of flying your parachute.
3.2 Gamepad controller or Keyboard
*These solutions are not as immersive and are essentially a backup to be used if needed.
The following options enhance the virtual parachute flight experience and keep you safe while using SkydiVR:
The following suggested accessories are available from amazon.com
VR headset stand. This accessory allow to conveniently store your precious headset while not in use
VR headset waterproof cover. This cover makes for an easier clean
VR disposable mask sanitizers. Another method to manage cleanliness
Anti-bacterial wipes. For wipes to sanitize the headset if needed between each use.
A cart to use your VR unit in different places in your drop zone then store it safely at night
Apart from a HDMI port to connect the headsets, you need a standard screen with a minimal resolution of 1920x1080 pixels:
An external screen (monitor, TV or a projector) in your training area or cafe works well to allow others to watch what is happening
*If you use a laptop with a single HDMI port to run SkydiVR you will have to use the only HDMI port to run the headsets so sharing SkydiVR to other screens is not an option
*SkydiVR is build to work with off-the-shelf components. We use Amazon and Dell. At the time of writing this guide, total cost of equipment is estimated around $US1200.
Creating a three-dimensional rendering of the drop zone area with 3D buildings, trees, and detailed textures is a somewhat involved process. 3D rendering of your drop zone will be after we assess together what needs to be rendered in 3D. Then we will provide you a quote.
